Over at Warner Brothers, We’re Like Greedy ‘n’ Stuff

Don’t you love when huge media corporations, who make billions of dollars a year ($11.6 billion to be exact), decide to take that away that ever so tiny bit of reassurance from the consumer in order to make a buck or two?

The culprit this time are those pesky little Looney Tunes over at Warner Home Video.  The home entertainment distributor which spearheaded the move towards slim-line DVD cases, our favourite…yeah, even I vomited a little trying to say that.

It seems that they weren’t quite done cutting back on DVD packaging.  After abandoning tv box sets for the cheaper slim-line cases, they’ve now ditched the cardboard slip cover which made it possible to still call them box sets in the first place.

So what’s next Warner?  Ditch the discs too?  Maybe scribble some stick figures on a gum wrapper and shove it in a slim-line case?  So many infinite way to save money.  The possibilities are endless!  I don’t know how you could possible sleep at night!…oh, I know!  On the mound of $1,000,000 in bills you made from selling off a children’s orphanage. Nighty night!

I agree about company’s such as Warner Bros being stingy with dvds. I find it really annoying that they are doing this and in some case switching half way through releasing a show on dvd so the seasons dont match.
