Is TVAus.com.au Dead?
Well it has been about 5 days since the tvaus.com.au site went down with a ‘critical error’, and no sign of it coming back anytime soon. I’m sure a lot of you out there are missing it terribly.
I myself have no news on when it will return, if at all. However if any of the posters of the TVAus forum could shed some light on the matter, I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated.
In the mean time please enjoy this site to keep up to date with all television happenings and to socialise with some of the TVAus community who’ve taken refuge in our comments sections.

Hopefully not all is lost.
It was the only aussie tv forum where members discussed obscure shows, ie little known us cable shows which never make it to our screens.

I had seen you comment before when it went down (similarly) for shorter periods of time. Can’t remember what the error message was, or what is going on at the moment. Having to console a few people! One wonders how hard it was to set up in the first place (cost of keeping it going aside) – I went to the phpBB sites and just suffered a meltdown trying to take it all in!

Found the following here – http://phorums.com.au/archive/index.php/t-100540.html
“As you are probably aware, tvaus.com.au has been offline since Sunday. Unfortunately during a routinue back-up the database crashed and was wiped. At this stage we have a back-up from October 2004 running, and our ISP is trying to restore a backup from March 10th 2005. This is taking quite a while, and unfortunately I cannot give an ETA for when the board will be back online. So basically worst case scenerio is we lose all posts since October 2004,
and best case scenerio is we lose posts between 10th March and 13th March. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you stick with us as we try to resolve this issue. Check back later this week for more information.”
It doesn’t mention who the quote is attributed to.

Ignore previos – dated 2005

If that quote speaks any truth, then I’ll presume my account has been wiped along with my posts… If my participation’s been lost, I’ll more than likely just give up on the place and post only when I need something.
*hopes for best case scenario with all her monotreme heart*
Btw, if Macgyver should see this… Sorry I missed you at the Heroes rabble.

Gah, I always take too long to post something.
*still hopes for the best*

Platypus you probably just missed PFs last comment saying it was dated back to 2005. I have no idea what is going on with the site. Thanks for the comments guys though. The more comments we get the more likely we’ll get information of what has happened.

Platypus,
How were our Heroes at JB Hifi? Were they friendly? How long did they stay for? Uni for me ended at 3pm, I thought about going, but I thought it would be all over.

Rich,
I missed out on getting in line for an autograph [had to preorder S2 to get limited spot]. Plus there were so many people there, I couldn’t get a good photo.
But, I did still get to see them as they walked into the crowd.
No idea how long they stayed as I got “shooed” away by the bouncers.

Damn, i wish they came to Adelaide, I would have totally lined up and got them signed.

Yeah, that message would have been from the last crash. I wish there was a way to find out what is going on.

What was this Heroes thing? Are some of the cast in Australia?
PF on September 5th, 2008 10:48 am
It’s back up this morning!
Ben on September 5th, 2008 10:50 am
Cam, Hiro and Peter Petrilli visited Australia and must have gone to JB hifi to sign some dvds.
Yay the forum is back.

Awww, now everyone will go back to TVAus.com.au, oh well. It was good while it lasted I guess.
Platypus on September 5th, 2008 6:11 pm
Cam, I’ll check in here more often now.
