The Slimline Invasion Goes Global

It appears our North American counterparts have started to catch on our local DVD distributors’ easy revenue making scheme. Waner Bros. have ushered the slimline invasion into a global arena with the recent release of Gossip Girl Season One on DVD in the US and Canada.

It is not know whether or not other recent releases also use this kind of packaging, but it is expected to be a new trend with all upcoming US DVD releases from Warner.

While this is a tragedy for DVD collectors, just remember that benefit of buying DVDs from the US still stands. You can still get them several weeks/months/years earlier and without the hideous classification and ‘#-disc-set’ logos all over the front cover and spine.
