Buffy Star Back On The Box
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who kicked vampire butt for seven years on Joss Whedon’s cult classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer is tipped to return to television in a new half-hour pilot for HBO, The Wonderful Maladys.
The ensemble dramady project from screenwriter Charles Randolph (The Interpreter), revolves around the dysfunctional lives of three adult siblings who lost their parents at a young age.
Randolph described Gellar’s character as having “a kind of zealous immaturity – like a drug addict with a to-do list.”
Randolph wrote the pilot as a spec script last year with Gellar and HBO in mind. Both will serve as executive producers should the pilot be given the green light.
