Gone Gone Gone: Programming Update

So by now you’ve probably already noticed that a few of those fast-tracked shows that you were watching have been already yanked off the air. You’re probably wondering, ‘what the frack?’

90210
Gone! Returning later this year (apparently). Lasted 4 episodes.

Fringe
Gone! MIA. Lasted 5 episodes.

Kath & Kim: The American Series
Replaced with the Aussie version. Lasted 2 episodes.

And you wonder why people turn to illegal downloads, if not just to avoid the headache of dodgy scheduling practices. How about not totally screwing us over for once, networks?

It’s the same with music downloads – you want to do the right thing and download the song legally, but when i) iTunes doesn’t have it and ii) the site that DOES have it can’t sell it to you due to territorial restrictions, it feels as if you have no choice but to download the song illegally.

Meh.. networks have been screwing us around for ages.

Until networks produce more local content, Australian FTA will always lag behind American and British networks.
