One HD – Sport 24/7

Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about Network Ten Holdings’ new free-to-air HD channel set to launch in early second quarter next year. The channel dubbed, ‘One HD’, will be a 24-hour sports channel. It will compete head to head with similar pay-tv subscription services.

The core programs are as follows:

  • AFL
  • Netball
  • Commonwealth Games (New Delhi 2010)
  • Cricket
  • Formula 1
  • Moto GP
  • NASCAR
  • Australian Rally Championship
  • National Football League (NRL)
  • Major League Baseball (NFL)
  • National Basketball Association (NBA)
  • Golf
  • U.S. College Sports
  • Tennis
  • Swimming

The network will broadcast two extended editions of Sports Tonight daily. They also intend to air additional content such as – extreme sports, emerging sports and documentaries from time to time.

‘One’ will also be broadcast on the network’s SD channel 12, although it will be separately badged and marketed, and used to promote the premium ‘One HD’ channel. ’One HD’ will replace the network’s current ‘Ten HD’ channel.
