Quick News Bites: 4th November ‘08

  • 24 Season 7 will premiere over two nights with two hour movie length episodes, beginning Sunday, January 11th and concluding Monday, January 12th.
  • A spokesman for 20th Century Fox TV has confirmed another network is interested in the recently cancelled animated comedy, King of the Hill. ABC is the main contender as it has acquired the rights to Mike Judge’s new animated comedy The Goode Family. The Goode Family will premiere on the alphabet midseason.
  • Michael Green, the creator/executive producer of NBC’s new midseason drama Kings has signed a new two-year deal with series producer Universal Media Studios. This deal includes a hefty seven-figure pay packet allowing Green to work on his new project Kings. Kings is set in a fictional monarchy and revolves around David (Aussie Christopher Egan), an idealistic soldier who joins the court of King Silas (Ian McShane).
  • Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb the co-executive producers of Heroes, have both walked out on the show due to creative differences.
  • The annual Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons gave the long running comedy its highest figures in nearly five years with 12.5M, A18-49: 6.2/15 and A18-34: 7.3/20.
  • The CW and Media Rights Capital have canceled freshman series Valentine and Easy Money after only four episodes.
