Shonda Rhimes unboxes TV news
Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes, riding on the success of her two medical dramas, is taking another stab at dramatising TV news. The writer/producer previously had two failed attempts at bringing similar concepts to screen in 2003 and 2006.
The new pilot, Inside the Box, which Rhimes will exec produce, follows a female news producer and her colleagues at a Washington D.C. network news bureau.
The pilot was created and written by documentarian Richard E. Robbins. Betsy Beers (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice) will also serve as executive producer.
