The axe falls on ‘Mars’
‘Life On Mars’ gets the axe. US network ABC decide not to renew the struggling series for a second season.

'Life On Mars' follows 2008 Detective Sam Tyler working as a cop in 1973 New York.
ABC have decided not to renew struggling drama ‘Life On Mars’ for next season.
The show has slid in the ratings since it’s series premiere of 11.33 million, with the most recent episodes averaging around 5.5 million. So this move from the network doesn’t come as much of surprise.
The 20th Century Fox TV/ABC Studios series, will however complete its initial 17-episode series order.
The season finale will be reworked as series finale that will hopefully wrap up any loose ends, explain how Detective Sam Tyler got transported back in time and potentially bring him back to his own time.
‘Mars’ was adapted from the original UK series of the same name by Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg, the team behind fellow short lived drama ‘October Road’.
The series stars Jason O’Mara, Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol and airs on ABC in the US and Network Ten locally.
