Reports say that the USA Network is close to giving a series order to ‘White Collar’, a drama from 20th Century Fox TV which follows the unlikely pairing of a con artist and the head of the FBI’s white-collar crime unit.

The pickup is expected to be confirmed after final details are worked out.

Matthew Bomer (‘Traveler’, ‘Chuck’) stars as the con artist, Tim DeKay (‘Tell Me You Love Me’, ‘Carnivàle’) as the FBI agent.

The pilot was directed by Bronwen Hughes and also co-stars Tiffani Thiessen, Marsha Thomason and Willie Garson.

‘Collar’ is said to have been groomed as a potential companion piece for ‘Psych’, whose lead-in, ‘Monk’ is soon to air its final season.
