Somerhalder takes a bite out of ‘Vampire Diaries’
Ian Somerhalder has joined the cast of the CW’s drama pilot ‘Vampire Diaries’.
Ian Somerhalder has joined the cast of the CW’s drama pilot ‘Vampire Diaries’, which centres on a woman torn between two vampire brothers – one good and one evil.
Somerhalder, who placed Boone on ABC’s hit drama series, ‘Lost’, has landed to role of Damon, the smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.
The 31-year-old’s other television credits also include ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, ‘Smallville’ and ‘Young Americans’.
More casting announcements on the CW pilot include Zach Roerig (‘Friday Night Lights’), who’s been cast a jock Matt, and Kayla Ewell (‘Entourage’), who will play Matt’s sister.
Somerhalder, Roerig and Ewell join previously cast Nina Dobrev and Steven R. McQueen.
‘Vampire Diaries’ is based on the Alloy Entertainment series of books. The pilot will be produced by Warner Bros. TV, Alloy and Kevin Williamson’s Outerbanks Entertainment.

I assume Somerhalder will be a lead. Dunno who the other two leads will be.
I don’t think Zach Roerig’s character will be one of the mains.
