Producers of last year’s multi-platform drama ’Scorched’, Marcus Gillezeau and Ellenor Cox and their collaborators Michael O’Neill and Brad Hayward have been nominated for International Digital Emmy® Awards.
“Screen Australia is very proud to have provided support for both the telemovie and online platform of Scorched, and we congratulate the team on this fantastic achievement,” said Ruth Harley, Screen Australia’s Chief Executive Officer.
The International Digital Emmy® Awards recognize excellence in content created and designed for viewer interaction and/or delivery on a digital platform.
The ceremony will be held at the 2009 MIPTV Conference in Cannes, France, on 30 March.
UPDATE: ’Scorched’ wins International Digital Emmy
‘Scorched’ has won the “Fiction” International Digital Emmy Award given out at MIP TV in Cannes on Monday.
“It took us five years to put this together,” said “Scorched” producer and helmer Marcus Gillezeau. “There was no financing structure in Australia for new media projects like ours.”
With only three International Digital Emmy Awards presented each year, Gillezeau hopes the win will encourage emerging filmmakers to explore new media.
