Five staple series lead ABC renewals
ABC have renewed staple series ‘Brothers and Sisters’, ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Private Practice’ and ‘Ugly Betty’ for the 2009/2010 season.

Australia's Rachel Griffiths stars on ABC's hit drama series 'Brothers and Sisters'.
Staple series ‘Brothers and Sisters’, ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Private Practice’ and ‘Ugly Betty’ have all been renewed for the 2009/2010 season by ABC.
The five series join the final season of ‘Lost’ which was given a three season pick-up back in 2007.
Conspicuously, all of ABC’s current midseason programs have yet to receive a pick-up from the alphabet, including ‘Scrubs’, ‘In the Motherhood’, ‘Samantha Who?’, ‘The Unusuals’, ‘Better Off Ted’ and ‘Castle’.
Also on the pick-up list are gangbuster reality series ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘The Bachelor’; as well as ’Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’, ‘Wife Swap’, ‘Supernanny’ and ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’.
