Freeview: Phase two begins this Sunday

The second phase of the Freeview marketing campaign is set to begin this Sunday on all free-to-air channels.

The second phase of the Freeview marketing campaign begins this Sunday on all free-to-air channels.

The new 60-second spot will be simultaneously broadcast on ABC, SBS, Seven Network, Nine Network and Network Ten at 6:29pm.

According to TV Tonight, the new roadblock promo will be built around “why we love TV” and promises to relive the most memorable moments that Australians have ever witnessed on free-to-air television over the past 50+ years.

It will be designed around moving vignettes, from historic and world-changing events to favourite characters, with drama-filled scenes and moments in sport.

“Everyone has their favourite TV moments or remembers a time when they were absolutely glued to the TV – this reminds us all of why we love our free TV,” said Freeview CEO Robin Parkes.

“We’ve captured some of those moments – I’m sure people will have their own favourites too.”

Phase two arrives at the same time that Freeview-branded digital TV equipment is set to hit retailers across Australia.

The Freeview consortium will hold a media conference next week to announce more details about new campaign.
