Your first look at the $250 million 10-part miniseries from HBO Films, the Seven Network and executive producers Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg.
HBO have premiered a new trailer for ‘The Pacific’, a $250 million miniseries from HBO Films, the Seven Network and executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Speilberg.
The 10-part series was filmed in Victoria and Queensland bringing in an estimated 4000 jobs and $180 million for the Australian economy. It is the most expensive series ever made in Australia.
The miniseries tracks the intertwined odysseys of three U.S. Marines – Robert Leckie (played by James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone (Jon Seda) – across the vast canvas of the Pacific. The extraordinary experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take them from the first clash with the Japanese in the haunted jungles of Guadalcanal, through the impenetrable rain forests of Cape Gloucester, across the blasted coral strongholds of Peleliu, up the black sand terraces of Iwo Jima, through the killing fields of Okinawa, to the triumphant, yet uneasy, return home after V-J Day.
Some of the Australian cast members include Isabel Lucas, Gary Sweet, Leon Ford, Penny McNamee and Anna Torv.
‘The Pacific’ is set to premiere in 2010 on HBO and the Seven Network.
