Neil Patrick Harris to host “legendary” Emmys

Neil Patrick Harris from ‘How I Met You Mother’ looks to be the front runner to host this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards on September 20th.

Neil Patrick HarrisAccording to Variety, it’s going to be one “legendary” Emmycast.

Neil Patrick Harris, currently know for his role as Barney Stinson on ‘How I Met Your Mother’, looks to be the front runner to host the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

While no deal has been closed yet, sources say the actor is currently in the middle of cutting a deal with CBS and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Harris recently received rave reviews as host of this year’s Tony Awards, which were held on June 7th on CBS. So it’s no wonder the network approached the comedy actor to front this year’s night of nights for TV.

Emmycast executive producer, Don Mischer, is under immense pressure from the network and Academy, after last year’s Awards were widely panned for the decision to use five reality TV show personalities as co-hosts.
