Nestor Carbonell for Khan in ‘Star Trek’ sequel

The ‘Lost’ and ‘The Dark Knight’ star is said to be the favourite to take over the iconic role made famous by Ricardo Montalban.

According to ComingSoon.net, Nestor Carbonell is the favourite to play Khan in the ‘Star Trek’ sequel.

While Khan isn’t even confirmed to be making an appearance in the next film — as the script is still in development — it’s believed that Carbonell would be the favourite to take over the iconic role if production began today.

Carbonell plays Richard Alpert in the J.J. Abrams’ drama ‘Lost’, so it’s entirely plausible that there’s some truth to this rumour.

Abrams has also yet to confirm whether he’d be back to direct the next instalment, however he’s already signed on as producer through his production company Bad Robot.
