Emma and Jeremy win ‘Beauty and the Geek Australia’

Emma and Jeremy have won the first series of Seven’s ‘Beauty and the Geek Australia’.

Emma Cam and Jeremy Reading, who were  favourites to win ‘Beauty and he Geek Australia’, have taken out the top spot in the ‘Geek’ grand final.

The duo beat fellow finalists Lisa McMahon & Corin Storkey and Michelle Smith & Peter Scott.

In the final episode, the teams took to the streets to take part in their own “Amazing Race” style challenge. With only a book of clues and internet connected laptop in hand, the three teams raced through Sydney, each with the task of tracking down three previously eliminated contestants — who were scattered throughout the city.

The first two team to arrive back at the ‘Geek’ mansion were Lisa & Corin, followed by Emma & Jeremy. Michelle & Peter were the last team to arrive, eliminating them from the show.

The final win came down to quiz over how much each contestant knew about their respective partner.

Everyone answered correctly, up until Lisa’s final question where she was asked what sport was Corin was playing when he broke a bone when he was young.

The correct answer was “rugby”, Lisa however answered “badminton”.

This one incorrect answer ensured Emma would have the leg up when she answered the final question correctly, winning her and Jeremy the $100,000 cash prize.

The series has been a solid performer for the Seven Network, averaging 1.04 million viewers over the course of the series, topping out at 1.21 million.
